Hai bài tập tâm linh của Dr. Rod

Dr. Rod là giáo sư về thần học và là mục sư ở một nhà thờ địa phương. Mình có dịp tới nghe Rod nói chuyện về cách tổ chức ở nhà thờ và tiền trình giao tiếp trong đời sống ở nhà thờ. Thật ra cách tổ chức ở nhà thờ và một công ty tuy có khác nhau nhưng có thể học hỏi được từ nhau. Nhà thờ vững trãi hơn công ty vì mọi người có cùng đức tin không phải vật chất.

Rod chia sẻ hai bài tập tâm linh quan trọng nhất với ông là:

1. Thời gian tĩnh lặng.

Ngồi thiền, yoga, cầu nguyện hay đi bộ từ từ.

2. Chơi bóng rổ.

Khi chơi bóng rổ sẽ tham gia được với tất cả mọi người. Có yếu tổ xã hội và thể chất lẫn tình cảm trong đó. Có thể thay thế bằng đi học võ, chơi môn thể thao nào đó. Tốt nhất chơi với người khác để có yếu tố xã hội.

THE STORY OF AN AMAZING BIRD

It was about 7:30am on Saturday morning in June . I was coming out of a Starbucks coffee in downtown Columbia when I saw two birds perching on my car. They looked like kissing each other. That was beautiful 🙂

I saw a man walking by. I said hi, he said hi. I then added “Where are you going?” He said he was just hanging out. I realized that this man was a homeless person who was coming to a downtown church to have a free breakfast and hang out. I knew this because I hung out with them before. The wind blew something into my mind from what being unsaid.

I was about driving home then I saw this bird standing on my car. This was amazing! I waited, took picture and did a short movie of the “bird meditation” with my Android. The bird was still there.

I started the car and was about to drive. The bird did not fly away. So curious, I used my Android and did a movie of the bird. I drove to tour the bird around campus then back to home. The bird seemed to enjoy the stay very much. Arriving home, I came upstairs to ask my wife to come down, see and take a picture of the bird. 🙂

I filmed again the scene I touched the bird. The bird did not move and then suddenly flew away.

What’s then? 

I consider this a sign of heaven giving approval of the road I am walking. I see very little ahead but it’s good to sense something 🙂
I shared with few people and got different opinions, some superstitious, some mundane, some awed then I got a better sense of Einstein’s quote:

“There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.” ~  Albert Einstein

The former closes their mind, there is nothing beyond what they see. The latter opens their mind to the possibility that there is something beyond what they see. Two very different ways to see things. 

I shared this story with a man. He was glad and shared with me that his son in law got a similar sign. His son in law was in New Orleans and was about to go out of town for a business. He thought he would go the day after but  when he got home, he saw a bird just standing by their window. The bird did not want to leave. Somehow he decided to leave out of New Orleans that afternoon.

Cô gái tóc vàng cao trong quán cà phê

Mình đang ngồi ở một cái quán cafe ở downtown, và ở bàn bên cạnh là một cô gái tóc vàng cao mảnh khảnh. Cô mặc váy kiểu “mùa hè” hở vai và còn hơi xuống một nửa. Cô ngồi một mình bên cái máy tính. Cô ta gọi điện với ai đó một lúc rồi lại ngồi máy tính làm việc tiếp.

Khi cô ngồi một mình, vẻ mặt cô hơi buồn buồn nhìn xa xôi có cái gì đó không an toàn. Trông cô hơi cô đơn.

Đằng sau cô gái “thời trang” này hình như là cái gì đó “không an toàn” và nhu cầu “cần được chấp nhận” lớn. Thời gian trôi có thể sẽ tạo ra sức ép lên  “hình ảnh” cô cố níu giữ. Chuyên gì sẽ xảy ra? Liệu cô có tìm được “hoàng tử” của cô không?

Cái gì diễn ra trong đầu óc của những người mẫu và các ngôi sao? Chuyện gì sẽ xảy ra với họ sau 5 hay 10 năm. Những điều đó có tương tự cô gái tóc vàng này?
